Intertraffic Istanbul: Market place for the traffic industry

Larger and more international than ever
“This will be the fourth edition of Intertraffic Istanbul and the event will be larger and more international than ever,” explains Senior Product Manager Jeanneke Bolscher. “The exhibition floor is already almost completely booked and this has allowed us to hold the show for the first time in the brand new halls of the Istanbul Expo Center Yesilkoy (Istanbul World Trade Center).
“The Turkish region is a central gateway between Europe, East Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East. Add in Turkey's future possible membership of the European Union and you can see why everyone predicts spectacular growth for this region in the years ahead.”
A significant number of international and domestic market leaders will come together to offer a platform to this promising market, where new solutions are needed for growing traffic, safety and parking problems. “The remarkable growth in interest reflects the fact that Intertraffic Istanbul is attracting visitors not only from Turkey but also neighbouring countries,” adds Mariska den Hartog, Product Manager.
Intertraffic Istanbul is supported by Polis, a group of European cities and regions networking for innovative transport solutions. Polis aims at achieving safe, sustainable, accessible and seamless mobility in Europe. It provides a link between local/regional authorities (exchange of best practice and cooperation on projects) and with the European Union (participation in European decision-shaping).
Polis is organising several inspiring sessions during Intertraffic Istanbul, related to road safety and security on Europe’s roads, sustainable urban transport planning and network management. Rome’s approach to managing its roads will be presented by Giacomo Tuffanelli of the Rome Traffic Operations Directorate. London’s use of ITS to meet its transport challenges will be explained by Rana Ilgaz of Transport for London. Full details of the programme, including exact timings, will be published shortly on the Intertraffic website. Attendance at all sessions is free.
Visitors to Intertraffic Istanbul can pre-register online via www.intertraffic.com or onsite at the time of the exhibition. Additional information on the event can also be found on the website.
